End of an Era

Had my last ever uni class this week. It was surreal, but fairly anticlimactic.

Next milestones coming up: handing in my thesis in two weeks from today (bring on a little more sleep deprivation) and touching up my beloved 'twidaliere' for the COFA Annual Exhibition... Times are definitely changing.

Sydney 18th Biennale

Ventured to Cockatoo Island to enjoy some sun, art and afternoon ciders. Bliss.

Although to critique the installations, overall I was a little underwhelmed. The curatorial space is already so magnificent and layered with history that anything installed within it is really competing with its surrounds. Having said that, there were a few things that I rather enjoyed, a few of which are below.

...

David Shrigley is, and will continue to be, amazing. I'm unsure if I should be as entertained by him as I am, but thats ok.

I may have finally bitten off more than I can chew. And unfortunately this statement is not related to food.

Back to reality

Wasn't quite ready to swap this for Sydney again, but alas work and uni pull my head out of the clouds quick sticks. On count down until uni is over and my head can take a long term vacation in the clouds. Bliss.

Home sweet home

Travelled home sweet home to see the family today after not being back to cooma in close to four months. Between the home-cooked food, the opshop catch up, hilarious wine-fueled poker games and the actual seeing my family, this view in my front yard was just the icing on the cake.

So I've decided to level with myself - with two months to finish my honours thesis, procrastination will be at an all time high. In an attempt to give the poor people of facebook some relief, I have decided to go back to posting my trivial musings on here. Crappy iPhone photos to follow, I'm sure.

My Sister

My sister has a cottage.

My sister has a clothes line.

My sister has a dog.
And any dog called Cocoshoe is a friend of mine.

I'm rather fond of both her and her possessions.
Im also rather fond of my new camera that took these photos. As the first camera to incorporate autofocus and automatic film wind back, the Konica Minolta 7000 is a work of art in itself. Not to mention that its just damn sexy.

babushka love

Part of my ongoing love for babushka dolls. Looking into techniques of shaping wood so I can make my own set.

So it would seem that my view of Cooma has changed for these holidays.
Quiet & relaxing? Kind of.
So dull and boring that I want to chew my own arm off for some excitement? Kind of.

BDO ticket and a shiny new iMac arrived in the post for me this week. God Bless you mr mailman, you're probably the best part of Cooma right now.

Weekend to do list:
* Put up christmas tree before christmas is over
* Work on the new watercolour portrait I started, I fear it will turn out a massive failure so no promises that it will make an appearance on here
* Vamp this blog... poor, neglected blog.
